Trap, Dirty South music or Southern Hip Hop is a term for a subgenre of hip hop music which emerged in the Southern States of the United States of America – especially in Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Memphis and Miami. Trap music can now be considered to be the dominant Hip Hop subgenre followed by West Coast rap and East Coast rap music.
